Race The Loop app for iPhone and iPad

The first of its kind, The Loop is a multisport relay race circling the San Francisco Bay Area. Mixing spontaneity with endurance, teams of 2-4 will run and cycle nearly 200 miles in 2 days, navigating city neighborhoods, regional parks, and rural roads.

Like any great adventure, we hope things dont go quite as planned.

Instead of a set racecourse, The Loop is built around 20 checkpoints, which will be kept secret until race day. Teams will learn about checkpoints as they progress on the course, using the Loop app.

Using the app, all team members will be able to track current racers location and stats, exchange racers at checkpoints, and view a real-time leaderboard. Download will be available in May.

All teams are invited to camp together Saturday night at The Layover (location TBA). Take the evening to mingle, feast, drink, and be merry! Free admittance is included with your registration to The Loop. BYO tents, sleeping bags, and party hats.

**Start Times**
The Loop has staggered start times on both Saturday and Sunday, June 20-21st. The first wave will start at 6AM and subsequent waves will follow at half-hour intervals. Plan to be racing all day, both days.

**Official Rules**
Ignoring these rules is grounds for public shaming and a naked swim in the ocean. Tempting, we know.

1. All 20 checkpoints must be reached in sequential order.
2. Teams may exchange racers only at checkpoints, but are free not to, if preferred.
3. Each segment will be prescribed as running or cycling. There are 10 of each.
4. No other forms of transportation are allowed.
5. Teams must provide their own vehicles to transport non-racers between checkpoints.
6. Any vehicle providing transport to racers must have both a driver and navigator.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
